Jill Bradley-Levine, Fellow for Research and Evaluation

[biography]

Jill Bradley-Levine serves as CELL's fellow for research and evaluation. Jill received her bachelor's and master's degrees in English education and secondary education from Ball State University. She earned her doctorate in education policy studies with a concentration in educational leadership from Indiana University. Her research interests are teacher leadership, education reform, action research, mixed-methods evaluation, and critical inquiry. Jill worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Urban and Multicultural Education at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and taught middle school and high school English for six years in Indiana and London, England, where she served as the literacy across the curriculum coordinator.

Jordan Cundiff attended Indiana University where he worked in the school's technology department and graduated with high honors in 2006, earning a bachelor's degree in telecommunications. Upon graduation, Jordan worked as a floor director/camera operator with WLKY, a local news station in Louisville, Kentucky. With varied experience in the field of technology, Jordan serves as CELL's computer support coordinator.

David Dresslar has had extensive experience in educational administration having served in several positions including assistant superintendent for the M.S.D. of Lawrence Township before becoming superintendent of the Jenison Public Schools in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After 17 years in Michigan, he returned to Indianapolis as a senior fellow working with start–up schools for CELL. He became executive director of the organization in 2008.

Karen Gould, Consultant
[biography]

Dr. Karen Gould has worked as an elementary school principal in the M.S.D. of Lawrence Township where she created a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence that was named one of America's best schools by Redbook magazine. She has been named a National Distinguished Principal by the U.S. Department of Education and served as an expert to Good Morning America on characteristics of great schools. As an assistant superintendent for M.S.D. of Wayne Township, she led school and district improvements. As a start-up schools leadership coach, she now works with high school principals to assist them in leadership skill development.

Lauren Howard serves as the director of communications and conference coordinator for CELL. She holds a degree in Public & Corporate Communications from Butler University and is Accredited in Public Relations. Lauren's career has been dedicated to education having worked for Indianapolis Public Schools, the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children, and having been with CELL since 2005.

Todd Hurst serves as CELL's school development coordinator working with both Early College and New Technology High Schools. Todd earned his bachelor's degree in history, classical cultures, and ancient Greek from Ball State University and holds a teaching license in Latin. He was a founding faculty member at Herron High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he taught Latin, United States History, and served as the director of college advising. Todd is currently pursuing a master's degree in curriculum and instruction at the University of Indianapolis.

Adam Lowe, Consultant

Adam I. Lowe is the founder of Saffron Ventures, an education policy consulting firm based in Bloomington, Indiana. He has supported urban school improvement efforts in Indianapolis and Washington, D.C., working in nonprofit, university and government settings. He also has conducted research nationally on education service providers offering comprehensive school design and/or management.

Lynn Lupold serves as a fellow for high school networks at CELL specializing in Early College High School. Lynn received a bachelor's and master's degree in applied music theory and composition from Butler University. She earned her secondary administrative degree from Butler University and Harvard University. Lynn has worked as a high school choral director at Noblesville High School and Lafayette Jefferson High School, an assistant principal at Center Grove Middle School, principal at Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana, and principal at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis. Lynn is a published composer and arranger working with individuals and groups throughout the country.

Wendi Middleton is a project coordinator for the Woodrow Wilson Indiana Teaching Fellows Program and CELL. She has over 20 years of experience working in social services, education and corrections. She has served as a transition coordinator with Prison Fellowship Ministries and the Indiana Department of Correction. She founded and is the executive director of Angel's Wings, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to family preservation through alternative residential placement for infants with incarcerated mothers. Wendi is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis with both a bachelor's and master's in Applied Sociology.

Jen Oliver serves as the Fellow for Strategic Initiatives with a focus on efforts to improve the high school-to-college transition for students in Indiana. Jen earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University in English and English/Language Arts Education as well as a minor in history. She completed her master's degree in Educational Leadership through Indiana University in spring 2009. At the school level, her experience includes 10 years of teaching high school English, as well as serving as an Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Dual Credit Coordinator. She also has worked for the Indiana Department of Education as an English/Language Arts Assessment Specialist.

Tyonka Perkins serves as the communications coordinator for CELL. She is a graduate of Butler University with a bachelor's degree in integrated communication and a minor in Spanish. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with highest honors in 2008. Tyonka's marketing communication experience includes working for the Butler University Office of Public Relations, Borshoff, and Young & Laramore.

Mary Jo Rattermann, Consultant
[biography]

Prior to working with the University of Indianapolis as a research associate, Mary Jo worked as a faculty member at Swarthmore College and Franklin & Marshall College, teaching developmental psychology, statistics and experimental research methods. She has published research on the development of analogical reasoning skills in young children and the development of planning in adolescents and adults. Mary Jo received her Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of Illinois.

Prior to joining CELL as a start-up schools instructional coach, Mary Redman served as a literacy coach at Lawrence North High School. As a former high school English teacher, Mary is highly trained in 21st century skills, professional development, instructional coaching, technology, and teaching and learning.

Prior to joining CELL as an administrative assistant, Heather Smith was a children's department manager. She attended IUPUI for two years and now plans on finishing her education at the University of Indianapolis with a degree in elementary education.

Nancy Sutton, School Transformation Liaison

Nancy Sutton serves as a consultant with CELL's New Tech initiative, having recently retired as the initiative's director. Previously, Nancy was director of the Small High Schools Network in Colorado, and an assistant superintendent and high school principal in the Denver Public Schools. Nancy worked in IPS from 1987 to 1996 as supervisor of guidance and counseling, director of pupil personnel services and later as principal of Northwest High School.

Trish Wlodarczyk serves as a fellow for high school networks at CELL specializing in New Technology High Schools. Trish earned a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in journalism and received her master's degree in teaching from Webster University. She has taught English/Language Arts in various places, including Guam, California and Kansas. Trish worked for the Salt Lake City School District in Utah specializing in E/LA assessments, professional development, and data and evaluation to inform instruction. In Indiana, she has worked for the Indiana Department of Education as the Core 40 End-of-Course Assessments Coordinator.
