CELL Releases Research on Successful Schools
What makes a school successful? In an effort to answer this question, CELL’s research team has conducted several school-based studies over the past three years. This work has developed into a research series highlighting three successful high schools.
New Tech High @ Arsenal Tech
New Tech High @ Arsenal Tech utilizes the New Tech model, which incorporates project-based learning and technology as a tool to engage students in a collaborative learning setting. This report shows how New Tech can positively affect learning outcomes and school culture.
Ben Davis University High School
The Early College High School (ECHS) model offers high school students from groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education the opportunity to earn up to two years of college credit. Ben Davis University High School demonstrated fidelity in implementing the ECHS model, boasting a 100 percent graduation rate in 2010 and 2011.
Pike High School
Pike High School attributes its success to a dedicated staff with a passion for improving student success. This report documents how Pike was able to leverage their staff to develop a strong network of supports in order to create a more positive learning environment in which all students may thrive.
