Schools, communities and businesses must prepare for tomorrow's challenges and opportunities today. CELL’s 2008 conference will focus on the implementation of innovative school models to ensure all students graduate from high school prepared for the 21st century. Responding to Tomorrow’s World—Breaking the Mold of Today’s High Schools will examine the national and international movement for high school transformation and showcase the momentum within Indiana. Nearly 400 school, community, business, higher education, and policy leaders from across the state will collaborate to build upon Indiana’s present progress to ensure its future potential. 

Responding to Tomorrow’s World will focus on local efforts to create global students.
The conference will feature leaders from Indiana as well as key national experts to develop innovative strategies for transforming our state’s high schools.
Topics to be addressed among more than 40 presentations include:

• Leadership approaches to dramatically change high schools and districts
• Theme-based and student-centered high school models including Early College, New Technology High School, Diploma Plus, Gateway to College, YouthBuild, and Big Picture.
• Creating and sustaining school, community and business partnerships
• Using community networks to support education change
• Student perspectives from within new school designs
• Project-based teaching and learning
• National and local perspectives on transforming education
• Science, technology, engineering, and math education
